Leave early

Allow time to get to where you want to go. Yes, traffic is heavy in these days, but most traffic jams are predictable. Also allow time for searching the right street, road works, parking...

Check-in time is not the aiming time on airports

A lot of panic can occur when you are aiming to be at the airport at the limit of the check-in time of your plane. Leave earlier to allow time for inconvenience, queuing at the desk or, worse, at passport control or for boarding.

Take one train earlier

When you take public transport, the trains may be delayed, not connecting or even not running. If you take one train earlier than the one you really need, most of the times you can overcome this without ending up in trouble at your destination.
